Language week York

Last week the classes 5B and 5C went on a language trip to York, England. We had a beautiful time with lots of nice activities.

On Saturday, we flew to Manchester and took a coach to York, where we first met our lovely host families. We were really excited and just happy to be there. On Sunday, we went on a tour to the little town of Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay, where some of us were lucky enough to see a seal. However: Be aware of the seagulls and wear a hat when you visit Whitby!

On Monday, we had our first English lessons at the language school with our very nice teachers Julian, Phil and Dan. In the afternoon they took us on an orientation tour through the charming city of York. Afterwards we went to the York Dungeons, which were really terrifying, but also a lot of fun. On Tuesday, we went to York Minster, an Anglican cathedral, which was really beautiful and the treasure hunt was also interesting. On Wednesday, we visited the Railway Museum and saw a lot of trains. Then we went on a ghost walk and heard lots of riveting stories. On Thursday, we visited the Castle Museum, where a miniature city showing life in the Victorian age was built inside. On Friday, we explored the city and went shopping for the last time. We bought some gifts for our family and friends.

Finally, we had to say goodbye to our host families and the beautiful city York on Saturday. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and hope that we can come back one day.
